Looks like there is another decal under that luft eagle! Started as a DD police and transferred into luftwaffe?
But even it if were an original reissue , it's worthless now with the liberated decal and the secondary bends in the liner pins!
Trying to improve a wartime helmet is like painting a cell phone on the Mona Lisa!!!! You will only decrease value and ruin it

Alright. Seems I missed the 101 class but we all make mistakes as young collectors. Someone want to fill me in on why this is such a big no no?

Because that makes a messed with helmet. Pins can break, and the liner appears replaced. Most collectors will collect only unmessed with items. Do that on a 1000$ helmet and you will have a 600$ helmet.
