Okie Dokie bud,
It was just a joke, cracking, funnies, hahas... You showed some marvelous helmets, I made a funny about soap in the back, to get people to look back...
Sorry if I offended you Senor Smith.
No need to get fired up.
Oh, yeah, I collect US... but I do have some German helmets... bub

I have a direct veteran buy Luftshutz DD police helmet with beaded rim painted the identical color of tanish gray over the original dark blue. This a nice smooth factory done type job with the decals applied on top of the paint and beaded rim. I haven't seen one of these type helmets in this color before. The veteran got it somewhere in Southern Germany.

Hello Bruce
I think we really need some closer looks to be more sure about your helmet.
All I can tell from those pictures is that the liner is an original one.
Would like to see some close-up's around the rivets and a close look to the decal(s). Is there any sign of wear to the paint/zimmeritt?
Best regards

Thanks Nick
There are a few spots here and there around the shell where the paint has chiped off, revealing the zimmeritt colour underneath. It's had very little field use, if any. The bloke I bought it from put some fake transfer decals over the top of the zimmeritt coating for some strange reason, that I carefully removed by chipping it off. Thats why you can see the shape of a decal in the photo. The chin strap has no maker stamp and both buckle and leather look original. The helmet is a Quist made shell, the leather part of the liner is stamped B60 XII 43. If you want to give me your e-mail address I can send you some closer photo's if you like?.
