        Look at Pic #1 which Nick posted. It seems that the Rivet was apart from the shell when the paintjob was done. IMO, you can see the lines of paint goes under the Rivet. This means at least that the shell was painted without the Rivets. Very uncommon for period camo helmets.Bests Jens

          Yes your right, I loosened one of the pins and had a look. It was done first then assembled. Looks like I've got a bad one, but I only paid the equivelant of $80.00 to $90.00 USD for it. I think I will pull the original liner out of it, put a replica in and sell it to a reenactor or something. Has anyone got a nice original shell that needs a liner?. Thanks everyone for your input.
