Heer decal opinion

    The same for me. Original helmet, original strache decal but postwar applied, 100% sure. Note the scratces under the decal and the crinkly appearence. Still an ok helmet but decal is not period and was poorly reapplied.

      Honestly - that's too tough a call with the helmet not in hand. Being an M35, was it reissued? Then maybe a period applied Strache... But it's application is pretty poor. However, several, absolute post-war applied Straches generally chip off easily and this one appears differently to me from the photos, like a period applied "rush-job", causing the wrinkles, etc. If a end-war reissue with a Strache - then I would expect to see wear and tear under the decal. This helmet probably saw several owners between it's first issuance and it's last. It's been through war, rain, shelling, dirt and Hell.

      Simply because of the condition of the decal and that it's a Strache - it will be one of those helmets you'll always have to "fight" to try and have people like it...

      So, it is what it is... Hope this helps.
