Need Some Help

Hello Gentlemen,

I picked this single decal LW helmet up this week in a trade from a good source and would like to hear your thoughts on the piece. The leather strap is marked div 44 and the stamp on the rear reads L62 under that it is stamped 5411 ( I think). I confess that I do not much about steel pots , so any information on this example would be most appreciated.

Thank you for the post, can you be specific as to what you don't like about this piece. I need the helmet 101 version as I really don't collect them or sell them.

Unfortunately the helmet is a complete fabrication. I would agree with Perry and suggest that you send this one back pronto.

Everything about it is bad...the decal, the chinstrap, the liner and the paint job with the artificial aging. The helmet shell is real but that's about it.

I am not really sure why I never collected any helmets but this area of collecting seems to becoming more and more interesting to me. I think that I will proceed with getting a few simple examples off the E-stand as they become available, for the purpose of studying them as well as start watching this part of the forum as well. Thank you for responding to my thread, the piece came from a very good friend that has a bigger heart than skills, I will just keep it for an office display as well as a learning tool.

If anyone would like to add anything specific that would be great as I am always willing to learn. Thanks again.
