Hi everyone, i would like to share with you what i got last weekend during a little military show here in Italy... it's an M40 WH (Q64/475) with liner on but without the leather and just small pieces of the chinstrap. The guy was hitten on front (i guess artillery fire or something) and the damage produced a deep crack on the shell. There's still a pretty decent decal turned yellow and the helmet body was painted in yallow camo paint all over. I know it's quite difficult to see cause everything is pretty much well cooked... and now the cool part of it... the legend says that the helmet was taken from a graveyard right after the end of the war and kept like that since then...
IMO this would explain a lot of the inside (i guess the guy didn't survived) and the outside condition...
ah just one small addition, the decal seems to be quite indifferent to the lamp... too much sun?
