Just returned home from the Max late last night so I have'nt read any of the new posts thus far so hopefully I'll have time today.
I think the show was a good one although there were not alot of good helmets there, but if you were looking for a nice SD army or Luft you would have no trouble, the prices for a decent SD army or Luft all were around the $500 mark. A few deals were there if you looked but the best helmets were gone by Friday. There was a "minty" SD KM still there Sat. when I left and I think Brian Maederer had a couple of real SD SS helmets still there Sat. I talked to Willi there and he mentioned no significant para helmets there either. But it was good to meet several collectors from the forum I had not previously met (although in some instances it took me a minute to remember who a few were, sorry) but the Max for me is to see other collectors I don't see all year long normally...I had a good time.
Several extremely rare uniforms were being offered there as well, a real SS para smock and probably the rarist WWII U.S. uniform. A camo U.S. M42 paratrooper jacket, many collectors have never held an original of either..
My friend John Burnett picked up a screamer camo that I'll share in another thread a little later, I'd say the best helmet sold at the show.
I picked up a nice SD Luftwaffe camo that was stuck in the corner of the show I'll share a photo of as well. John Hodgin took a picture of me holding it outside the Max so I'll let him post that, the condition on it is very nice..

Here is some of what Bill Shea had to offer. I really think the Max turns up some nice pieces. Not sure if this photo shows much of that super Luft DD M35 with wire that Bill got out of a museum. Note the very rare medic's helmet and the one with the splinter Heer cover in the second picture.
