No one here receives any money for helping anyone. We do so because we have a passion for the hobby. In your case, you got just what you deserve and paid for.

You have been givin an avenue to research and learn.

Then you can come back to this thread and tell us if you like it and why. But you'll find that after all that study, all that work and research and learning..

A new guy will pop up and get all butt hurt because no one will break it down for him and cross all the tee's and dot the eyes..

After you made the personal effort to do it yourself.

      Then we'll talk

            Amen!

For the record, my initial "for free" comment was not about us being paid for imformation, but about you putting forth some effort first and developing a relationship here. It could have begun better.............

Hello 375 hh sako - Thank you for you comments that have been discussed in this thread. The helmet forum is visited by people from all over the world who have given their time to members you are both novice and experts. This forum has had it ups and downs over the past year, but let me say this clearly. People will be more open to you if they know more about you and know your collecting interests. Making comments in your posts in no way assists the collecting comminuty or this forum and I for one will not tolerate what has been said. So please lets start over by introducing yourself to the members of this forum even if you have said something in another thread.

              Thanks...

                Hello All

As it's my first post... I collected in the early to mid 70's and have since all but sold out. It's not to say the "stuff" wasn't monkeyed with back then, a lot of it was, but one could go to a show and walk out with an armful of Herr, Luft, or FJ helmets and just feel good about them. SS, even then was the most monkeyed with, so most of my collecting circle left SS stuff alone.

In terms of helmet covers, the only Heer cover I saw that may have been good was at first ridiculed because Winter was stamped on the inside (white). In defense of the original posters I have searched past posts for info about helmet covers, pictures and explanations and found precious little. I guess it also takes time to let others get to know you, so perhaps a bit more patience is required by the original poster.

This is an interesting forum, so many of the reasons I found for collecting, I find here, and unfortunately, some of the reasons for getting out of the hobby.
So much garbage out there that commands such high prices. Patience and mentoring. I still remeber the name of the "shoulder board" man who saw me wandering aimlessly at my first gun show and the help and direction he gave me.

                Mike

                  Right on, bro!

Sometimes it seems like this place is just a circle jerk for insiders to pimp their own crap.

Hello gadaru_kanaru - Interesting comments, but I need to say that this is not the kneipe forum. So your last post was uncalled for.

                      Thanks...
