        Thanks for your fast replies
What is the main thing that is "bad/wrong" with this one?

i cant tell from these blurry pics but , i cant understand how users can immediately dismiss items as wrong uns,or right uns from the low quality pics unless they have handled or owned a number of these covers which is highly unlikely ,of course unless there is something blatently obviously wrong then please commit and explain the problem instead of just saying WRONG! we have all gained our experience from each other and years of examining original items so share it with people who request your knowlege and increase the easeability to spot fakes by a breif explanation of why !!

Actually the scenario you have outlined is quite likely. Use the forum's search function to find threads in which original examples have been posted.

Mike is perfectly right. There are members of this forum who not only have handled, but OWNED dozens of ORIGINAL Heer camo covers. And there are members of this forum who are very knowledable on these. Several of which has aired their opinion already.

I am not one of them, and if I was to purchase a Heer cover, I would consult with among others some of the above gentlemen.

i simply asked for a breif description why? to help members gain a better understanding of what they are looking for,? and do appologise if i offended anyone, but i am only saying find it hard to see, how from such blurry bad pics all over the site how difficult it is to judge items unless there is an obvious immediate flaw and giving small pieces of knowlege to people who ask for it cant be a bad thing can it? thanks

When it comes to cloth you will not get a break down as to "why" a particular piece is bad. As with SS decaled helmets experience is not givin carte blanche.

If your interested in covers, as has been said do a search and you will find dozens of "good" covers. Study and save the pictures. Learn who knows their covers. Network and make a study of it.

That is what "they" have done. There are no shortcuts. I think covers are one of the most difficult areas to learn.

I haven't been bitten by the cover bug yet. Thank god

There are a few threads active on covers currently over the hill in the link in my signature that might be of interest to you.

Actually, yes! The fakes are better every year because of the wealth of information posted here.

In addition, the implication that members deserve any information that they want by merely requesting it, is offensive.

i just dont get the point of these forums then!!, in all my years of collecting militaria i have avoided these places on the basis that they are pointless and you have just confirmed my suspicions, if you are not allowed to ask why is an item a wrong one ?becase you might offend ,or give an oppinion on an item or comment on someones oppinion of an item ,and you are expected to just take a one word answer or two word answer from the german militaria gods without any questioning whatsoever how can people increase their knowlege on such items ?? if you are all too afraid that forgers will benefit from anything more than one word answers or you hold yourselves in such high regard that you dont need to explain! just one word from the great german militaria allmighty is enough for us mere pesant collectors these sites are nothing more than a "mines bigger than yours" conversation !!! for gods sake i only said it would be beneficial to members if you gave a brief explenation to help increase their knowlege and i suppose you have owned "huge" ammounts of covers also

This is a discussion Forum! Not an, "I demand to know everything you know for free and immediately" Forum. You have already been provided with links that are of great benefit and education. But it's up to you to read them, we don't spoon feed here. Show some effort, then come back and DISCUSS!
