      "came direct from a private household - never been in a collection before" is nothing to go on. How do you know this is true? And even if it is - what does that say about the hat's originality? I know what he is implying...but it's a line. He could just have easily said it came from the German soldier who wore it.
      I would not have thi shat in my collection if offered to me.

        I agree with the other members. It's not good IMO, I would pass.
        Looks too new, stamps are strange, can you post a pic of the air grommets? It could be the key. If it's a copy, it's simply the best I've seen to this day.
        The fairy tale "direct from the family" is a shame for a "reputable dealer" (which one this time, Kai or Helmut?)...
        Only my opinion...

          ...and if you buy the hat, you are really buying the line the guy gave you ,as earlier you were convinced it was a fake like many of us do. Good versions of these caps are not so hard to locate.

            I completely agree with all of you ...but it is just too hard to believe he is selling "a line" This is really "a shame for a reputable dealer".

            I got this today, but it doesn't look good.
