Heer or KM?

I'd say Heer too. Doesn't have the deep gold color to me.

It's a Toshiba PR-25 or something like that....I have'nt figured why it sometimes takes super sharp pics and sometimes takes them blurry...

Is it usualy the lacker that makes heers toned? This one seems to have no lacker, does that give it more chances of being KM??
To bad the germans didnt make a different decal with an anchor and stuff, it would avoid problems for collectors!

sorry, Perry to jump on this, which has nothing to do with this thread...

JL, in fact I thought that I saw a anchor-type KM once in the booklet from Philippe ; 'Le Casque Allemande'. Don't have it near me, but maybe someone else can scan a picture of it?

I also saw a picture of an 'anchor-type' helmet in one of the militaria magazines. The helmet was described as a helmet for volonteers of the Italian RSI-marine ( post1943). I can post a picture of it if you want.

maybe we can start a new thread concerning these type helmets?

The decal you refer to is that of the Reichsmarine. Two crossed anchors over a white background with gold border.

Perry if you want to take pictures you have to stay still. How many times do I have to tell you that.

I had the same problems so I bought a little stand for about £10 in my local camera shop and it works a treat!.

Thanks Perry, I presume that these ' Reichsmarine' helmets are pretty scarce, no? I never saw one in real. Are these being fakes? Probably yes.

Do you have one in your collection, Perry? Or someone else...

No I don't, and I know of no collection where one exists. This decal insigna was used from the mid 20's till the introduction of the KM decal. Like all Navy items many were'nt needed. More so for the Reichsmarine.

I would also like to join the debate,here is a photo of the decals from my M 35 helmets,first from left side is a Heer decal,the one in the middle,I must ask you guys to help me with,is this a KM or just a toned Heer decal,the last on the right side is KM.

Jorn it's my opinion all the one's on the right are KM.

Jorn, I think that the decal in the middle (M.35 helmet) is a KM ; and in our last post, the 2 on the right are KM too. Better views would be better, but there's little chance to make a mistake anyway.
Now I know why it is so hard to get one : all are at the same place ! moremad
