Well, I've learnt something today as well! I know that the stictching can be black (though none that I have are) but didn't know the stitching could be found off to the side at 90 deg. like that one.
Also, I though the impressed border also had to come to a point where the end of the strap comes to a point but it seems not in every case.
Brian, you're right about being jumpy with chin-straps... they are not covered well in the reference books so when I see something that is not the 'norm' for me I do get uneasy!
Glad to see it's a good, early piece. If there are no objections I'll be saving that one for future reference.
