need help DD police combat helmet

I just bought this helmet. I bought it with a 5 days return privilege.
It is a M-40 DD police helmet. I just receive it yesterday. It has a “salty” look. I has a even wear all over the helmet.
The shell is stamped 7187 and SE 64
Does not have a chinstrap and the string it is not original.
The liner is original, but I don’t know if it was replaced although the leather condition and metal ring match the overall condition of the helmet. The leather may have been treated as is almost black, but supple.
The decals are suck into the shell as I can not feel the borders and look good to me, but I am not an expert.

I will appreciate any input as I could return it back.

Yes even from those hazy photo's I feel the decals are original..

Thank you very much for your comments. I like helmets with character.
I may have overpaid, but the good thing about this field is that in 1-2 years I will be ahead.
I am saving money for a DD police in better condition in the future.

Let me pass on some good advice...
When you buy this helmet it will not be long before you will want to sell it, more so if you become strictly a helmet collector. Wether it's 6 months before you sell or 6 years you will find that because of the liabiltys found in this helmet it's value will have remained stagnant. It would be wise to hang onto your $375 and strive to put another $375 with it and go for one in above average conditions that hasn't been messed with post-war or cleaned. But if $375 is going to be your ceiling for quite sometime and you strongly desired a combat Polizei and nothing else, I would say make the move..

I really like the honest opinions that I get in this site. It may be harsh to take sometimes, but I would not like it any other way. It is normal to get attached to our helmets. Sometimes we mayt ake a negative feedback too personal.

Do not hesitate to give me your honest opinions the way you really think. By the way you have save me a lot of money already in fake stuff.
