Wow, this is really disturbing. I am interested in the reasoning behind this.

      Outright Lie

Note in his discription he states the helmet was assembled in the "transatory period" when last week?
      This is obvious!

Looks like the "proverbial" just hit the fan. I hope the rest of his helmets are good, they'll need to be with the amount of sh.....rapnel flying around.
What a dumb thing to do & a quick way to blow a reputation.

Very disturbing indeed!! Its his helmet / his business, he can do what he wants.......As long as its fully disclosed to the next buyer! looks like it wasn't. Would like to hear an explanation for this one! The most disturbing thing is that history is being altered at the highest level of collecting, for seemingly just a few dollars Also, Where did the strap vanish to?

I had the opportunity to handle and closely examine this helmet on Thursday morning at the MAX. As an additional observation, in the first picture of this thread one can see that the inside of the dome is obscured and tan in color. This, in fact, is, or was, a unique and firmly affixed fabric covered pad which prevented any visible observation of the dome stamp. Now, look at picture number two!

                    Consider this......
Why change the liner originally fitted to this helmet ? - it makes no sense to me, except for the following scenario.......
The original reinforced aluminium liner would add more value to another helmet......!!!!
I honestly can't think of another explanation, unless, of course, some catastrophic event occurred to irreparably damage the original liner, in which case this should, of course, have been mentioned.
Someone needs to do some explaining.
                    Regards,
                    RAY.

I think you might have hit the nail on the head to add valuse to a high end SS

I think we are near the bottom of the pond with this after being given the benefit of the doubt regarding the DDSS this one will need some good explaining aswell.

                        police helmet

                        Hi Guys

I know the person that has brought this helmet , when it arrives we will inspect it and the post our findings on this forum!!
If this helmet has been tampered with then it will go back to Ken and he will have to hang his head in shame. I would like to thank all the forum members for there posts because without them the helmet would have been sold on to some other collector!!!

This is a major turn off! I wonder how many more are out there that have been diddled with?

Now that this has come to light i can tell of a similar incident involving the same seller. Some time ago an ss shell with not much decal left but with the name ' Winkler ' in white painted inside back of shell was for sale at " B&S militaria ".
Some time after it sold it was for sale on Kens site, extraordinarilly enough with a liner that has never been tampered with. It had good photo's of rusty split pins too, which if i didn't know the helmet, would have had me fooled any day of the week.
