Here are pictures of a WW1 M16 camo helmet that I just acquired. I was not sure whether to post these pictures here or in the Imperial thread, but a quick search shows that most M16 threads are on this Helmets Forum, so here goes.
The markings stamped in the inside dome are: "R 8 27". Any markings that would or could have been on the inner side rims are covered by the camo paint. However, handwritten in pencil on the underside of the back rim is: "3605" and what I assume to be a surname which I am unable to decipher. If anyone can read the name, I would appreciate knowing what it is, please.
Any other comments are also welcome.
Thanks and regards,
John
