It would seem that military doctors, pharmacists and veterinarians aspired to superimpose their single-pointed flames to those of the fighting units in which they were placed. Here are two examples of cavalry regiment veterinarians.

The habit of superimposing the collar patches of the Corps to which the personnel belonged to those of the Corps of employment continued also during the Republican period, as these two examples demonstrate: on the left an artillery armourer non-commissioned officer assigned to the Montebello Cavalry Regiment and on the right an Administration Officer assigned to the Cavalry School.
