                  yes, the color of the bregonzio found afterwar in the workshop,but anyhow pre 1945 made, have a darker blue color.

                      imho not is an Bregonzio model but one of the different type denominated "long
                      rose" I think the type not in zamac especially created for the soldiers in service
                      at flotilla sea. The zamac have at contact with the air marine salt an fast corrosion
                      for this motive was created this difference type of shield . I have one of this type
                      in my collection; an rare shield.

                        Rafaelo , I believe it is a bergonzio as it has the same die flaw as the others.
                        It is at the right upper apex of the X on backside

                        Maybe true for naval units at sea or earlier model

                        I truly regret not buying this one.

                          The only shields suitable for sea/marine purpose ( but probably only made at that time with the best base material in stock)were the ones made using brass sheet, all the rest made in zamak or zamak nickel plated or anyohw zink- iron base were production made using the material available .

                            in this comparison of the skulls two shields skull have little difference .. in particular see the
                            eyes I don't think the shield of Giorgio is an Bregonzio model, never seen before an this factory shield
                            gold plated all Bregonzio shields have the same characteristics and were found in the same period; if is
                            an Bregonzio model is the first can I see...
