Beretta MAB 38a 38/42 mag pouch?

    Hallo!

Can anybody confirm whether this is a WWII period Italian production MAB 38a or 38/42 (Beretta) magazine pouch? It is being offered as a 4 cell WWII production piece that fits the 40 round mags. I have seen two cell pouches in original photos with strikingly similar production details but never a 4 cell and never an example in current collections. I have scoured the forms without much success.

Hopefully some of the "local experts" can help positively identify the piece and its potential market value, as I have not encountered one of this style for sale before.

I am interested in any photos either period or current of verified wartime non-"Samurai" style MAB pouches, especially period photos of Germans using them if anyone's wiling to share.

    Thank you in advance!

Why not for FNAB43, OG44 and/or TZ45 SMGs?, these too employed 40-round magazines.
I’m not aware of such ammo pouches having been manufactured after WW2 and the construction features are typical of WW2 Italian individual equipment. I’ve chanced upon other 4-cell ammo pouches , very seldom I must admit, and I may own one somewhere. No idea about the value.

Yes for the TZ45 ( around 6000 produced), yes for the FNAB43 (less than 1000) but the only 14 OG44 produced for test needed no magazine pouches.
Every Italian SMG used 10, 20, 40 round Beretta's magazines.
Only few Isotta Fraschini were produced for the MP40 magazines, the others had Beretta's magazinhe

Beretta MAB 38a 38/42 mag pouch?

          Greetings!

So the standard Beretta magazine will fit the FNAB43?

          Best regards,

This magazine pouch, I do not know where it comes from, but I think it's a replica. It is done with all the leather parts, of the M31/33 gas masks case.

Absolutely, I can see it now that I look at the stitch lines. I also thought it strange that the cells seem to have a narrow box pleat at the center of each base rather than the edges.

Excellent observations and thank you for the assistance with this pouch! There isn't a whole lot of research or examples to go off but something just seemed "off" about it. Grazie!

I (mis)understood DietrichSteiger's post as aimed to identify the pouches as of WWII vs post-1945 pattern rather than raising authenticity issues. Thank you , Ardito, for your eluciidations.
