For the pilot symbol corresponds to a period between 1937 and 1965, but by the characteristics of the crown and materials I can assure you that NO is the Spanish Civil War period, I dare say it's the beginning of the 60 '.

Here I leave you an example of the Legion Condor delivered to the Volunteers Italian, and Spanish pilots.

      Greetings from Madrid.

        Hi,

        Thank you for your help.
I guess that this one is from the Spanish Civil War period.
It has the name of the pilot...there is any possibilty to confirm in the Spanish Archives the name of the pilot?
Are these Wings still rare?..Which is the market price for one like this?

        gracias
        Luis

Hi Luis, This emblem is the Spanish Civil War period, in the back is the signature of the manufacturer "ROKISKI MADRID"

The price varies widely, but a reasonable price is 400 euros, at least what I would be willing to pay maximum.

As for the name of the pilot, maybe it would be possible to find something in the Historical Archive of the Spanish Air Army of the link I put below.

          Greetings from Madrid.

              ¿900 euros? ..... that's an exaggeration.

It's a good piece and in very good condition, but 900 euros is too high a price. Right now I know not for sale, sorry.

              Julio.

The times when these wings worth 400 are gone. Even embroided ones surpases that figure. (Talking about genuine SCW wings).

Then if is marked "Madrid" I wonder how could it be Civil War period. Madrid remained Republican until the very end of the war and I doubt the republicans ever made wings for Franco during the war

Well, you are right but I can explain this:

Luis Rokiski was the son of a Polish officer arrived in Spain in the second half of the nineteenth century, and was a renowned writer I make all the emblems of Spanish driver from 1939 until his death in 1965.

During the Spanish Civil War, the pilot symbols of General Franco's army, were made in Germany in particular were these:

It is likely that Luis Rokiski in his workshop in the street Carretas 26 - Madrid, and was making the emblems of Spanish driver before the war ended, or at least it was he finished the war as their distribution among the pilots was almost immediately, so that the drivers in Russia Spanish volunteers (Escuadrilla Azul) in 1941 and bore the emblem "Rokiski" on their uniforms.

Therefore, pilot manufacturing emblem of Spanish at the time of the Spanish Civil War did not exist, I understand that in Spain and the Spanish Civil War for immediate delivery drivers are called Rokiski, according to the rules of uniformity 1937.

Some are made in Germany, and the others are of Spanish manufacture, that's the difference.

900€...??: Thumbdown:Hi, this price is very expensive, now the price can be from 400 to 800 €, depending on whether it is silver or not, and by your state.

It was common for pilots mark their name on the back, but not all pilots did.

                            "Drivers" you mean pilots, right?

From 1939 to 1941 Rokiski (and other manufacturer's) had still plenty of time to make thousands of 1938 type wings for the SAF (and Escuadrilla Azul). And well after that date, as that type of Rokiski was still used well into the 40s (I even have a somewhere a picture of a General carrying one in the 70s).

So, no wartime metal wings ever made in Spain during the war? Not a single manufacturer of jeweler had a single spare minute during the war to make wings for the thousands of aviators of all types in the nationalist side??? All imported? Franco's Spain certainly needed foreign help, but to the level of ordering their wings to the Germans I have difficult to believe

For me, the nice wings in your photo are more likely a German piece of the 1939-44 period for LC veterans (as could be purchased from military effect shops & jewelers in Germany). Or maybe you have wartime pictures of nationalist pilots wearing your type of "German import" wings during the war?

There was no other manufacturer in Spain, from 1939 to 1965 (year of the death of Luis Rokiski), the only manufacturer of pilot's wings for the Spanish Air Force was Rokiski.

I insist, pilot wings during the war were manufactured in Germany, in Spain from 1939 to 1965 was Luis Rokiski single manufacturer. And thousands of pilots is an exaggeration, in the Spanish Air Force had only a few hundred, for example to Russia with the Escuadrillas Azules were a total of only 74 pilots.

It may be so, since that pilot symbol corresponds to uniform regulations 1938 (for the type of crown) and maybe to Spain and did not arrive in time before the war ended, and already in 1939 started Rokiski deliver their emblems
