Croatian Silver Medal of the Order of the Crown of King Zvonimir with Oakleaves

Croatian Silver Medal of the Order of the Crown of King Zvonimir with Oakleaves Question

I am looking for someone to be able to help with a presentation I am putting together in that I am looking for an image which I can use, which shows the award in question (complete with oakleaves).

Also, I understand that there were 3 grades of this award, Silver, Bronze and Iron. Can anyone explain what order these are grade? For example, is the Silver grade the 3rd Class or 2nd Class or even 3rd Class?

All help really will be well received as my knowledge of this field is extremely low.

    Regards Richard.

        Richard,

Here is the information on the Order Of The Crown Of King Zvonimir.

This information comes from David Littlejohns publication "Foreign Legions Of The Third Reich.

The Order was instituted in May 1941.

        It came in Five Classes.

        (a) 3rd Class: a white enamel, gilt outlined cross worn from a ribbon

        (b) 2nd class: a similar cross but worn as a pin-back decoration with out a ribbon

        (c) 1st Class: a similar crossbut worn on a ribbon around the neck

        (d) 1st Class with Star: a breast star with no sash

        (e) Grand Cross: an eight pointed silver Breast Star with Sash and Sash Badge

Any class could have crossed swords for military action

For bravery in the field the "war decoration" wreath of green enamel oak leaves could be added around the center piece.

For war merit the so called "war decoration was employed-red with white edges.

The motto "Bog i Hrvati" which appeared on the reverse means "God and the Crats."

The date 1076 was the date of the coronation of Kingf Zvonimir.

Here is a shot of the first four classes:
