        Hello,

many posters issued during 1944-45 against allies do exist and almost all of them represents black soldiers by obvious racist features.
I will post some from my collection ASAP.

        Best

This new kind of propaganda, I mean with the enemy always illustrated as a coloured, come up after Montecassino, when the troops of the free french army (coloured coming from algeria, morocco, sudan...)were responsible for thousands of rapes against italian women. These brutal facts were just used by the RSI propaganda to show all the Allies troops as bands of coloured, dangerous animals.

The whole world was racist then, including the United States. I do not see anything that would indicate the Italians were any different from the rest. Propaganda today is much more subtle but the horrendus part whether real or not will always be shown to the homefront to villify an enemy.

We all more or less consider "banging" one of our priorities Troy, raping is another matter altogether.AFAIK there are no cases of Italian women raped by US black troops (of course..it could have happened but it may have been the odd case!),on the other hand there are thousands of cases of Italian women, and even boys, men and priests raped by North African troops fighting with the French. It would become a very long and debated topic,so I'll stop here and agree with
                    Bryan and Ric!
                    Cheers
                    Chris

... and, sadly, some states have remained racist for many years after 1945 also, history.
