Here' s a period image of a similar one (also note wiring/plug/throatmic for LW communications) but with leather sausages added.
I love this kind of stuff!
Could have been taken from a manufacturing facility or more likely from a captured (overrun) Luftwaffe airbase and converted for RKKA armor use!

Makes sense too! Czechoslovakian conversion could be an explanation too! They had a lot of left-over German gear... Who knows?
The picture on the other hand is war time RKKA I believe...

Nick my personal opinion about the few guys in #52nd Post the first picture the few guys wearing SS/SA daggers is a weapon of choice for any Urka, this particular style dagger fits good on to palm for close combat and is easy for a soldiers to high boot for a concealed carry. To look closer look at left side first guys who is sitting down on the chair look at his wrist to see a Tattoo peking out from under his sleeve of the hand he is holding a cigarette with, and the other hand looks to have his fingers inked with his rank place where he had done time, but not clear to see exactly. As a known fact under Stalins regeme there were Russian jail system had formed a SHTRAFBAT by the prisinors to go to Front lines.
