From the same sequence, the battle of Budapest, a siege that lasted 50 days...
(Dec 29, 1944 – Feb 13, 1945).
If these photos were taken after the battle (and staged, appears to be the case) they were still taken DURING the war as the hostilities during the European campaign of WW2
still lasted almost another 3 months!
Such propaganda images of the victorious Russian army were created for immediate consumption on the home front and (international) news papers...they didn't wait until May of 1945
to create these...in other words the SS parka pants were worn during the war and documented as such by a Russian propaganda unit!
