Typical Kurt...one hat isn't showy enough, you just had to slip another one in! Ha ha, only kidding, what KM U-boat officer wouldn't carry his blue top visor in case of emergency? Great stuff, wonderful thread.

I have the three models for the 2nd U-Flotille (same text), plates round and octogonal, and one for "potage".

I have a chope/stein with a private period photo showing it in use during a X'Mas eve party , however I always thought the plates were purely for presentation and did not realised they were meant to be used as well.
