I thought I would share my latest for you.

        Any idea of the makers?

WH has a S&L or W&L looking catch.

            Hi Henrik

IMO 2 nice original summer uniform birds.

The Luft one in solid aluminum with crimped hardware is from a maker I dont know unfortunately but the exact same type of crimped hardware is also used on a cupal heer/Km bird which I suspect to be from the same maker (as per attached pict)

It could be S&L or W&L but a lot of makers used different types of hardware later on. From what I can see, based on the front your Heere eagle looks like a late specimen of the Assmann 1st pattern eagle as per attached picts . Cant be sure from your pictures but some of these (but not all) are marked with the Assmann "A" in the 2nd lower feather of the right wing (from the back) . This style hardware (catch, hinge) is most likely generic (3rd party) and is also seen on variations by other makers

            Regards

            JC

Thank you JC, you sure know your eagles :-)
              The cupal Heer is unmarked.
              Regards Henrik

No problem Henrik, glad to help!

However I doubt your Heer eagle is cupal: probably silvered tombac or possibly zink (copper coated zink considering how nice the finish is) IMO. Typically cupal birds are thicker (aluminum side) and show a demarcation where the copper and aluminum meet which I dont see here. They also use crimped (like some aluminum birds) or plate mounted hardware (to dissipate heat when welding) and your bird doesnt appear to have these characteristics either

                Best
