It really makes me sick and I really hate what is happening here ( sorry Andy) but the fact remains the same, something is wrong with the splinter pattern shown in this smock.
I have seen real close up shots of the cloth.....to me it looks like real wartime HBT weaving. Stitching, cords.. all look OK. So if the print had been right... I'd say it's an OK smock...
Werner[/QUOTE]
Hi Werner and jim
unfortunately i lost all my close up photos of construction a few months ago when my pc went down and only have a limited few which i took before it went to peter , I compared mine to jims in his posts and will add mine but it looks like the construction is identicle and i do agree werner that the splinter pattern is differant and so is not right so when i get the smock back i will go to all lengths to get it date tested etc .What i cant believe is that if this is a repo why would they go to such fine detail in ever single way construction ,materials etc like you mentioned and not get the splinter pattern right which is the most valuble point
regards
andy
as for this phot its a close up of the neck and you can see a joint in the neck seem were all bits of material were used , would a repo go to this extent ??Attached Files

a close up of the white neck , if you look closely then you will see the hem joint is joined in the same place as the camo side , ???????????? is this going to far with creating a repo , this is also the same along the bottom end where the joints are identical on both camo and white sidesAttached FilesLast edited by andrew b; 04-18-2005, 07:24 AM.

,Sorry for these photos and i do agree with you all 100% on your judgements on the splinter pattern but could you compare these photos with any you may have or in jims case his smock as iam just hopeing that just because the pattern is not text book and these smocks been rare it still might be an original example but that one that has not been noticed before .
ps still gutted
pps if this is a true repo well it is the end of collecting as mentioned before ,if its only the print that is wrongAttached FilesLast edited by andrew b; 04-18-2005, 07:12 AM.
