A few of those were to sell at the last Hermann auction.
I think they have a chance to be good.

What is the color of the backing cloth?. On my monitor the color of the backing cloth looks black not field gray. If is black it may be KM.

Looking at first glance I thought suspect but when I look at the construction & quality materials etc its a mint genuine unissued generals eagle

Wether general, KM or Coastal artillery is hard to say but its a beautifully executed original bird IMO

                    Generals eagle for sellers
                    Costal artillery eagle for buyers..

You're unlikely to ever find one for sale as CA...

I do agree that this piticular one is well suited for a generals bird..

The chest and outer wings are not detailed enough....it lacks the outer wire strip that normally runs along the top edge of the wings... and the elbows of swastika arms are out of shape so I'd say not. See the copies now sold on Marshals baton site.

Speaking of the marshals Batton you should examine the Original generals eagles.

Many low quality birds to be seen ..Not being "extra fancy" enough is really a moot point...

It all came down to how much a General was willing to pay for his bling or lack their of..

                        Just my humble opinion...

I completely agree IMO this is a current reproduction. The bullion stitch is too loose.....the swastika is off center axis, the wreath lacks detail, the inside upper wing stitch shows stress pulling (machine). There is no age to the gold, especially at the point of contact with the wool. The rear stitches are covered with a pressed material that is too thin.
Several of these surfaced at the same time on a couple different sites.
Even the "cheapest" period general's eagle, is much nicer.

                          Not for my collection.

I'm with 11C & Praubal - I don't like it for the same reasons they state.

                              Eagle

I agree don't like it either . The top row of bullion that a generals eagle has is not there and as stated the swastika is not looking to good either . Cliff
