Not all the Grünmeliert fabrics are identical, the term only means "mottled" or "mixed" "green" and many many variations exist. It was used in DDR and as far as I know it is still being manufactured for utility fabrics etc.

The Grünmeliert used by tailors was different and higher quality than the issue fabrics.
I understand thanks for the explanation.this kind of type of tissue turns.

I think the tunic posted probably is original but it would be good to ask the Police collectors if they know the fabric is from the War period or before.

I agree, most likely totally original in a light weight cloth. Such tunics came in many materials,
German and "beute" cloth. It is a striped version of Grunmeliert...

I had an NCO Heer uniform in 1979 made in the standard Polizei-LW jump smock speckled cloth,
so it was not even exclusive to officers.

Unfortunately the speckled brown-green grunmeliertes cloth is not so clear in these old polaroid images...
          but it is very similar!

I had a GBJ Tunic from exactly the same Material. Imo it is a very nice original Tailor made tunic. Congrats to this one

Forgive my ignorance, I have never seen this kind of fabric used for WH tunics before.
By reading comments here, I learned something new.
