Well i seem to be in the minority here but I prefer the history over the condition - I would take a named tailor labeled piece with a few moth nips or a few condition issues over an equal minty un labeled un named piece. For example this named Holters piece

which i was fortunate to successfully research and obtain a large file on Von Kries. The uniform has some condition issues but untouched and what a story it tells. Yes it could be fixed but I prefer to leave it as found.

I like both, Mint and used, but I would never buy an officers tunic. I am not interested in heavily mothed but if there are one or two small holes in unobtrusive areas and its something that I haven't got, then I would buy it. Of course, it also depends on what I have in mind for the item. If its a stand alone tunic, then I don't want any major signs of wear but if I intend to use it in a combat display, then worn is best.
