    The Dad also was Field Artillery- 146 Field Artillery Regiment, E battery. They served as a Corps Artillery unit detached from the 41st ID and the 4 battle stars on his ribbon are probably for Château-Thierry, Aisne-Marne, St Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne.     The son's unit 905 FAB was part of the 80th as you noted and they went overseas in early July 1944 landing at Utah Beach in August 1944 as part of the 3rd Army and took part in the Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace, Central Europe campaigns. Their brief Division history is here-
