    "FELDGEISTLICHER" footlocker with uniform

    Hi,

is it possible to find more infos about him ?

    I already checked on google…

Is there a list somewhere with names ?

"Coch." seems to be his name.

The number "645" is painted several times on the footlocker but it is also present on the label in the visor cap.

Tunic made in Salzburg and portrait picture too.

    Thanks
    Mathieu

    name

I believe his name is actually Goch. The number in the hat would not make sense replacing a name on the tag which was the usual identification. The cross appears to be for a Protestant chaplain, though if he was from the Salzburg area I would expect him to more likely be Catholic. Frankly the group does mot suggest that it's all from one person to me.

Thanks for your opinion, i can say it was a direct vet family purchase.
It was purchased by a German picker in the late 80's and was sold to the previous collector.

I would post very detailed images of the hat in the cap forum and see what the consensus is. The hats are very rare and often faked by rebuilding and repiping originals or out right post war manufacture. I am surprised the other collector was not able to get the name from the picker.

You have to be very careful with anything like this as 80% of these groupings are built using a real item like the box with other items added etc. These was being done all the time in the 1980s in Germany by "pickers".

I agree--can we see better photos of the visor, including under the sweatband?

I'd love to see more detailed pictures of the set. If - and I repeat if - it is all original and to one man it would be rarer than general officer items by several magnitudes of scarcity.

On the "studio" pictures the collar tabs really look blue but they are more purple in the daylight.
