Would have cost a lot! A general's uniform surfaced on WAF from the same tailor (Maison Jordi in Amersfoort). The cap was never changed over to officer candidate status (with silver chin cord...) always had a plain leather chin strap matching the rank.
This Feldgendarm remained an Unteroffizier for the duration of his service in occupied Holland as far as I know.
(based on Wasti records)
Hat and officers style riding breeches originating from the same tailor, all custom made in matching Dutch gabardine.
A feldgedarmerie official could order and wear something very extravagant to reflect his authority while on occupation duty I guess!
Duty stations: 2 different "Kommandantur" postings in 2 Dutch towns. (Amersfoort and Den Helder). His open collar "BüroAnzug" !
