Technically also it should have the dress tabs as worn on a waffenrock. These would be also in violet. Catholic chaplains wore these with field tunics but I think both would wear this type with a piped dress tunic. This example probably is tailor made for a field tunic but a tab for a dress tunic would be very similar.

The collar tabs are applied parallel with the bottom of the collar...
Should be aligned with the top...

      Gorgeous tab Johnny!

As Johnny has already explained in the previous thread about this tag, the reverse ghosted image is obviously the result of over zealous application of heat...most likely from ironing. This would effectively turn a vulcanised cotton name tag into an iron-on transfer.

For me, the cloth of the jacket looks too much like the cloth on this Janke visor, in weave and color.

This tunic, with visor and oversea cap plus " documentation" and " story" has been on display on a mannequin in a lately remodelled public museum !!!
It has been on display for about 30 years !!!!

Marc, from what I have seen in both American and European museums, a good portion of the items on display are bogus or put together. Still, as repros go, the tunic itself shows somebody put a lot of work into it.

Janke has been around at least since the 1980's so that's about 30 years...

In my experience, usually originals have more hand stitching under the collar and on the inside panels where the lining attaches to the inside panel with the button holes.
