Clarification of terms
Good day, everyone:
First, my thanks to those who posted pics on this thread. It's answered, in photos, many of my questions regarding LW trousers.
I'm still unclear on the designation of the two trouser styles. It's probably just me. I have the two Davis LW books but not the Angolia books.
In Davis, Vol 1, pg 211 (I have the softcover edition), Davis mentions "Langehose" being worn by all personnel. He then follows up by mentioning riding breeches (Stiefelhose) for officers (along with others authorized to purchase their own kit) and then "Fliegerhose" for NCO and other ranks.
Based on this, are the following terms correctly matched to the trousers?:
Langehose -- the straight-legged trousers shown in the photos on this thread -- i.e. those trousers with, literally, straight cut legs and the "V" in the back with center-rear adjustment strap?
Fliegerhose -- the style which prompted this thread -- i.e. trousers with the side adjustment straps and split cuffs (Keilhose)?
Reithose/Stiefelhose -- riding breeches -- self explanatoryLast edited by SprogCollector; 06-15-2006, 10:16 AM.

It is my opinion that both these and the trousers submitted by Willi Zahn are not in fact Luftwaffe Keilhose but rather the trousers of the Luftwaffe HJ Flakhelfer service uniform. The beltloops were intended for the standard belt and buckle (HJ or Luftwaffe) as the pullover tunic for this uniform was worn tucked into the trousers like a shirt. The Luftwaffe did indeed produce Keilhose though they were identical to the Heer pattern.

Has somebody got a pair of textbook HJ trousers to show?
I always tended to think that this model was a model between the straight trousers and the model with the pocket flaps?!
