Don't like the way the boards are attached. to the tunic. I also don't like the breast eagle.

On closer look, the collar tabs sewing is very rough and sloppy. I really don't like this uniform at all. Sorry.

I agree with what Tom says. I do not like the quality of the eagle which seems lower than what you expect to see for a General. The collar tabs look to be nice originals but sewn on poorly. You expect to see top quality work on a General's uniform.

Hi, agree beast eagle is poor, collar patches are nice old style type with these I would expect to see bullion type shoulder boards.

Collar tabs look OK to me - I have seen better quality ones, but I am pretty sure they have been re-applied to this tunic - look at how the (crude) stitching follows the area of damage on the front of the one board. I think the tunic has been put together.

I may be wrong, but the shoulder boards look like late DDR to me....

The sleeve cuffs of the jacket don't turn back as much as they should.

Agree with all the above. Nice collar insignia that was poorly sewed on. I have never seen shoulder boards attached like that. Breast eagle looks poorly made. Too many negative issues with this general tunic in my opinion .

From what I know, GDR General rank boards have one more loop. I personally like the boards and think they have a chance of being original WWII German. The application is another story of course and you'd only see such an application on a hastily performed "field promotion" which is out of the question for a dress tunic that has super early metal General's tabs already attached. That said (in addition to the sloppy application already mentioned), you can tell that the wear on the collar is not reflected in the tabs which clearly gives it away as being put together.

Ahh and those buttons look real as well ... Kurt

Collar patches are good but restored to the jacket , it's evident !
Shoulder boards are cello , sewn on an horrible manner but they are good .
Kurt is right , DDR boards are different , with one more loop and not sewn on such a nice typical red cloth .
Eagle is not good but an old badly aged repro .
