Private purchase embroidered eagles existed with many variations. Here is one like this that I have always regarded as original. Could it be a 1940s-1950s reproduction? Perhaps.

The bird I have posted has been discussed on the SS forum. It has been deemed original. I think it was a Dutch visor eagle. Odd bird!

I should better say. All birds from post 17 to 24 are original IMO.
