Soulder boards pips might ave been aded to raise up the rank to Oberst. To me they seem of different size, differnt woreness and the position itself is strange. I would go with major rank, but insignia itself looks periodicaly placed by the pictures.

Indeed one pipe is in bigger size, although there are signs of wear behind pips/rust in holes, it's not cast upgraded boards! Lets forget about "strange positions"

Boards and tabs looks untouched, the liner wasn't opened (not present-day), we can see old dirty threads and dirty stains in this place.

Yes, still a great tunic and I would just put it in my collection with a nice bust and awards and just look at it for ages!
