It is a very nice tunic all-around made of beautiful "Italian gabardine"

Looks good to me! The wear seems even throughout the tunic and insignia. Question are the collar tabs hand sewn? Rare to find a high ranking tunic such as this.

                Nice looking tunic.

Have the collar tabs been replaced?

I don't have tunic in hands, I'll add more photos asap.

                  Thanks for all comments!

Few additional pics. Collar tabs are machine sewed, there isn't any other signs on collar

                    Thanks for all comments!

Nice garbadine officer tunic, but I would not ask myself if the tabs are replaced I would ask more or less if the boards are replaced to make it
                      to a higher value tunic.

                      Regards,

The board are on the "wrong" sides as well. This happened in the period as well but also often indicates a jacket has had the boards replaced.

I would say the boards are replaced.
Can you make a better shoot of the lining inside around the sleeve?
If you find two different threads there or different types of stitches than I bet it's upgraded.
                          However could be wartime??!!

The tunic is a latewar so made probably around 1944?!
If the boards are replaced because of promotion Hauptmann to Major than it's very improbable he got so often promotion up to Oberst.

                          Cheers,
                          steiner99

                            ]

Of course, I'll add few photos soon.

I'll also add high resolution photos of collar tabs and collar. I don't see a single thing wrong with it except converse style - that we can find around on others untouched examples.

The price of jacket was very reasonable, it's not overpriced tunic.

My view on this tunic is that it is a really nice example, just wished it was in my collection!
