GJ nco tunic regiment 100

Just got this one in. Have been looking for a regiment 100 GJ for a long time. The Kreta ct was loose and came with the tunic. The eagle is reapplied. All comments welcome. J

Did you buy it as an impression of rgm100 or as an untouched tunic?

Daniel, i dont believe it is untouched. The ct was loose but there is clear evidence of previous ct. When the edelweiss was added is anyone guess, but it is settled nicely into the tunic, been there for some tine. Shoulderboards anyones guess?

Nice display piece Jacques. Agree not untouched, but it is a very attractive tunic.

Has this tunic been resized? Numerous size stamps and see circles...
Is it coded G41? Looks like its been reworked, skirt pocket bellows removed...
pockets restitched flat. Attractive for sure!

I think the shoulder boards were for the great coat... they are too long for this field tunic

Nick, thanx for that input. I was especially interested in a discussion of the markings. You are right the tunic was adjusted and the pockets stictched flat. What does G41 means? The markings at the top (thin stamp) is" KARL..... and below the name it is not G41, but 341 (part of the thin stamp )part. The lower thick stamps seem to be added later?

The tunic is the very high quality fabric found on early tunics.

Probably the month (3) and date (41) as there is a space between the 3 and the 41...Thick stamps are most likely the re-tailoring stamps.

I see it now, yes March '41. That makes more sense! Certainly reworked (and restamped) as his "best dress" uniform,
hence it surviving in this condition. I agree looks like standard length shoulder straps too. Again great score!
