Late war 1945 M44 tunic

They are out there as can be seen in the thread linked below. some Enlisted men with earlier eagles on their M44's and many NCO's and Officers with earlier insignia which I am sure were pimped up by the wearer. but as for the Enlisted men I believe it shows it did happen from the factory!

I would be right in line with you Glenn for one of these variant M44 tunics, it happened and I am a believer they are still out there. for those that have not seen the thread on M44's in wear linked below, enjoy!

From all those photos I don't see one early eagle folded and applied like a trapazoid,I just see standard mouse grey eagles folded,M-44 type eagles and a folded printed eagle.

Anything early based on these pictures I would say they were added after issue by the wearer.(pimped)

And no early "factory sewn" collar tabs that I can see,all later mouse grey types.

Interesting in that they are early collar tabs applied in a early way on a late war jacket.


I only recall seeing them applied like this on M-43's,44's if sewn this way.
