Hi All,
I'm posting an army private purchase breast eagle that I picked up recently, which I think is interesting as it is done in the same style as a lot of kriegsmarine eagles that I have seen. I took a pic of the eagle with a KM eagle for comparison. This is the first time I have seen an army eagle executed in this style, but maybe more experienced colelctors have seen loads of them. If so, apologies!
The eagle is entirely UV negative, and the thread is a silvery white, or possibly very very light grey. In some lights it looks almost metallic, and the website that I bought it from described it as an officer's eagle. If it's an original piece, I think it is more likely to be for an enlisted man to jazz up a walking out tunic, or waffenrock.
I'll be grateful for any thoughts on this bird, even if you think it's a fake.
All the best,
Mark
