    Nice photos but these are commercial cards not private photos so likely this guy was some kind of actor or model so these are entirely posed there is no relationship between the persons.

            I think the second girl is the first girl's sister. The family theory might be right. There is probably a picture of this guy with the girls' mother. He should have been awarded a "pipe laying" badge.

              For the sake of the family, that's just why my wife asserted Grandfather Groll's playmate was cut out of this picture.

              Still trying to figure out any lineage of him (waffenfarbe etc.).

                  I would guess that the piping in Red on those. Not 100% sure but in most period pictures that is what it looks like.

                  If you know what town (to determine WK) he was from that might help
