The color difference in the letters comes from the the fact that the lighter colored strap was tucked inside the other strap for storage. The top strap was exposed to the dust and dirt.
    Great straps.

I have an unusual pair of Zitroengelb Heer officer boards; they have Luftwaffe "NS" cyphers on them. One story that I have heard is the Heer and Luftwaffe Nachrichten Schulen were amalgamated late in the war. Have you ever seen any such pieces?

        Thank you.

Yes. This is a board from Dave's collection. It is a Heer infantry lieutenant colonel shoulder board with a Luftwaffe intertwined ‘KS’ device. The Luftwaffe used only bright aluminum braid on officer shoulder boards. Towards the end of the war the Luftwaffe did have ground troops, and it is apparent that this army officer was assigned to the staff of the Luftwaffe War School as an instructor.

It would have been nice to have your example for the book.

I am unaware of any such arrangement and might look elsewhere for an explanation for your unusual strap. Possibly a Heer officer was attached to a Luftwaffe school.

Actually, most Luftwaffe field divisions were absorbed by the Heer in 1944. This is possibly for a HG officer attached to a Kriegschule ( I understand that it is Heer style).

                  New boards

                  Dear all,

I recently found three nice pairs for my collection: 'Art. BeobachtungsLehr', 'Nachrichten-Lehr' and a never before seen pair: 'Nachshub-Schule' boards... all three sets are very nice and will go for sure in the collection (sorry!). Enjoy!

                  Best regards,

                  Coco

                        Hi Scott,

the color is the typical pink, but the color is faded and the boards are a little bit dirty
