Hey Afrikasandman, what is happening at good ole Fort Benning, Georgia these days? My old stomping grounds @ 44th Company, Airborne School back in 71. Made a return visit in 1993 and a whole lot had changed. I'm sure you have been to the new INFANTRY museum? I hope to visit again once the rumored Armor museum is opened. How is progress on that?
Best regards and many thanks to all for posting some really nice pieces.
    Keep it coming!

    Mike,

the post is getting pretty ridiculous to say the least. It seems like its constant construction projects that never get finished up. A lot of the roads on post are getting switched to 2 lanes both ways and the whole new area they built for the Armor school is pretty wild. Tons of new tank trails going up everywhere and cris crossing each other... seems like a maze these days! Hell I got lost out in the middle of no where the other day but I got back eventually... The Infantry museum is just killer! They are still working on several displays there but the ww1, ww2, Korea, Vietnam and cold war parts are finished up. They have some killer stuff from Mogadishu and its just very well done. The beginning is my favorite part as its shows the US military from the Revolution up to modern day (they even have one of our Bradley's that served multiple tours in there) Its really something you just gotta go see when you get down in this area. Im over on Kelley Hill with 3rd Brigade 3ID for the time being but since we are not going anywhere it seems im probably jumping ship to deploy with the 14th CSH again but will go to Afghanistan this coming Oct. and then switching over to Inf. Its funny I just have the hardest time getting to go to schools here even though everything I want to do is here! Hell trying to get a Ranger slot is like pulling teeth. I should be knocking out Air Assault towards the end of Nov if my CC will sign off on it and Path finder in the spring and hopefully Ranger then as well. Matt

My favorites being the top left one for High official attached to the OKH & the Feldpost one.
Top 2 on the left are for the General Staff and have nothing to do with the HV. I do like your FP tabs though....been looking for some for awhile now.

sorry not to agree Laurence, to be exact not General staff but

Top Left : "Beamte im RVM, RKM, OKW und OKH" and was part of the HV
2d Left : "offizier der RWM/RKM und des OKW und OKH"
both were suppressed with HM 42, Nr. 970 from 16/11/42

the 2d left will be for "Offiziere des Führestabs und Generalstabs" if it was in silver.

I already seen several of the 2d left but the top left was a first for me
(but no doubt others are in collections)

        I likes the FP too

I beg to differ, you are correct in that they are not General Staff, but they are still not HV.

Going off of Schlickt/Angolia english version

"...Officers (not "Officials") of the RWM, RKM, OKW, and OKH........Collar tabs were embroidered with gold colored double serrated litzen with 15 "teeth" on each of the edge's and, and with chapels at each end. The center stripes of the litzen were made of 2 small gold cords or "V" patterened embroidery, while the "chapels' were seperated by a single gold cord. The base patch was of the crimson ( The german version has it as "karmasinrot"). Vol 1 pg 436 (English) Page 249 of the German version.

The Officials of the RWM, RKM, OKW, and OKH would wear the tabs you have just to the right of the set we are discussing as per HM 42, No 979. Vol 2 pg 134 (English) Pg 332 (German version)

                  Greetings All,

I got lucky after I posted my shoulder boards and picked up a couple more to round out my early IR13 collection.I picked up a nice pair of IR13 Unteroffizier from Peter v. Lukas and my friend picked up a nice single upgraded feldwebel with picked numbers and replaced metal numbers. I am one lucky guy. Hope you like them.

In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.
