          Retired Reserve Medical Officer.

This is the only retired officer board I have ever seen, outside of the reference books.

Hello, thanks for the compliments. Yes these are red piped tabs. Here are pics of the straps that came with them in the late Vet. 3rd Army Div. estate buy. Chuckles encouraged, maybe late war experimential rank. Some of the pips are SS. Can anyone divine the 763? Best, Bill

Here is another fine NCO board from Pz.Artillerie Btl.16.
I am looking for any 16.Pz.Div. insignia, anything from Pi.Btl.16, Pz.Pi.Btl.16 or any Pz.Pi. insignia. Also any "16' slip-on designations.
                    Thank you Steve

                    Bill, great boards!

                      7th horsedrawn Artillery Regt

While going through my stuff I found that I had a second pair of these:

                        Motor Park Troops?

I think these are an officer assigned to a Motor Park in Wehrkreis "X" (10) - (Hamburg).

I have a similar pair in my collection without the number 4. Can anyone confirm that these are Motor Park Troops?

                          Diane,
I don't think that these boards denote an existing unit. However, they look used - are the numbers perhaps post-war add-ons?
Until 1934, mounted (Reitende) artillery battalions were integral to three of the seven predominantly horse-drawn Reichsheer artillery regiments and were operationally assigned to the three cavalry divisions. In mounted or "horse" artillery units, the gun crews were separately mounted to enhance mobility. I've attached a photo from the Weimar era (note buglers)....
Anyway, the only artillery units that wore the gothic "R" were Reitende Artillerie-Abteilung 1 (1. Kav. Brigade) and - briefly- Reitende Artillerie-Abteilung 2 (2. Kav. Brigade). These were combined to form the Reitendes Artillerie-Regiment 1 (1. Kav. Division) in early January 1940.

                                Heer R+7 Horse Drawn Artillery Boards . . .

                                Hi Carsten,

I was discussing this very thing with Chris V. who tells me that he has an EM Waffenrock with chain-stitched R+7 Artillery straps.

Looking at the numbers on my LTC boards I can see that they have been on there a long time.

Could this be an independent formation assigned to a Division or Brigade?

I am not up on my "order of battle" as well as I should be.

                                Diane
