    Tom:
Apologize for the scanner - and have no idea why the same object, placed in the same position (front and back) comes out different sizes and clarity...

Scott, that tab is really something! And having the picture. Priceless.

To the rest of you, I apologize for being lazy. I posted a bunch of straps & boards with no indication of what they are. (Sometimes I forget that all of you aren't 'into' them like I am.) Anyway, I went back and identified them all.

I agree! I don't recall ever seeing one before. Isn't that the non-regulation Braunschweiger Totenköpfe? That thing has to be at the top of the rarity scale. Can you give us the story behind the grouping?

Thought I would put some of my Gebirgsjäger ones in here, as I didn't see any posted yet.

The left most '98' ones are the rare Schulterklappen for the Windbluse.

The single 'US' one belongs to a Konvolut including his photoalbum and Soldbuch

And a few Gebirgs artillery ...

The Beobachtung 38 was the Gebirgs Beobachtungs Abteilung.

The Gebirgs-Lehr was part of the Gebirgs Schule.

              Hope you liked these,

              Bart

                Nice Gebirgsjager!

Here is a set of officers with the twist piping for panzerpioniere.

                  Tom:
Not much of a story to go with it. That's the kids death notice...died in Southern France (but lists other areas/fronts he served on), but I would have to dig it out of a file/cannot recall the details except that Rich accurately narrowed it down pretty well.
It is a decent set of stuff...

                    More Neat Stuff!

                    Scott,

Some really nice straps, boards & tabs there my friend. I especially enjoyed seeing your AA 3 straps and Kradschützen-Btl. 3 straps. I remember The Cracked Pot once had an enlisted Parade Dress tunic for this unit that I just missed out on. It’s still out there somewhere………

The Braunschweiger Totenkopf grouping is also very interesting. Off the top of my head I know in 1944 Pz.AA 11 was in the southern France neighborhood. Would make an interesting research project.

                    GJR 100,

That’s also a really nice collection of Gebirgsjäger straps & boards. Thanks for posting.

                      Here's another 6 - yes, I know....I have a lot of favorites.

Master Sergeant, Recruiting Headquarters for Military District VII, Munich area. (Before 1942 the Waffenfarbe was orange.)
Major (E), Supplementary Officer of the Reich Ministry of War. (This insignia was created July ‘35 and abolished March ‘38.) Have both boards.
                      1st Lieutenant, Guard Troop Berlin.
1st Lieutenant, Headquarters of the 7th Cavalry Brigade.
                      Captain, 5th Cavalry Regiment.
1st Lieutenant, 5th Cavalry Regiment. Have the pair.

                              New guy's stuff

I am new to this site, but I already know some of the member's via e-mail. I collect cyphered boards & straps from the Heer & Reichswehr. In particular, I find the embroidered pieces the most desirable. Please bear with me while I learn the ropes!

Here is an embroidered piece from what I will assume to
                              be Sturmgeschuetz Abt. 667.

                                Unique piping

Here is a strap from MG Abt. 66. It has a unique silver piping in addition to chain stitching. This unit existed as a MG Btl.
for less than a year and then was titled a Flak Btl.. I have heard different theories as to the meaning of the piping. I would appreciate more input.
