    I agree with Chris and Matt, looks like a good tunic to me.
    if I am missing something obvious please educate me?

      An original tunic (imo), the heavy wear typical of POW or post-war wear . I believe insignia is likely expertly replaced.

        looks like a pre45 tunic with a partial restiched eagle and possibily belt straps too but the photos arn't to clear on that area
