Interesting to see a mouse gray wrap worn by a senior officer in a non-combat setting; obviously these combinations were considered stylish by some other than tank crews. Also, judging from Sepp Dietrich's reaction, GFM Model was capable of amusing his subordinates.

In Bob Edward/Michael Pruett's book "Field uniform of german panzer elite", p. 93 you can see 2 pics of oberst Johanes Schmidt wearing the mouse gray pz set.

This one shown p 84 in Didier Lodieu's book "Combats sur le Seine".
Kurt Wahl is wearing a 2nd pattern wrap with colar closed.

It is imo the denim version, but i can't say for sure if mouse gray or gray green.
I don't know other period pic of a SS officer wearing this type of Heer wrap.

Those two show 1st pattern Hbt sets still used in 1944 by panther crews, notice the lack of colar insignias :

This one show Tiger crews, at least the man on the left wears the 1st pattern HBT trousers :

Panther crews again, 2nd pattern sets, but not sure if HBT or denim, notice standart litzen probably factory applied :

Last, to illustrate the difficulty for clearly distinguish HBT and gray green denim material on period b&w pics, an actual close wiew :

Both trousers are in unworn condition.

Markings are faded and not any more visible - tks are not applied through the collar but collar patches and eagle are factory applied - straight machine stitched.

Here is a second pattern wrapper that has been modified with the pocket being removed, the body and sleeves shortened and shoulder strap bridles (wool, in this case) added. The tabs and breast eagle are factory applied. Also a set of loops was (period) added, The tunic had been worn for a while with the pocket (as it is less faded where it had been) but pocket was likely removed when the wrapper was shortened.

Splendid one, with a classical modification, ie the removal of the breast pocket.

Picture I recently got, showing what seems to be a green denim with feldgrau collar tabs.

                              A very nice portrait.
But i would vote for HBT material, not green denim.
