I agree, clearly HBT, even the blue green hue is visible that is different than the wool uniforms.

With this pic, one can guess why breast pockets were sometimes removed :

This one was sold on ebay, the combination of HBT or denim with wool items are my favorites :

Another complete mouse gray set from ebay :

Hbt first pattern suit worn by Panther crews :

Gray green denim pz trousers (spoted on ebay by a friend on a french forum), one of the best wiews of this item AFIK :

Mouse gray wrap (from ebay again) worn by a pz officer :

Very hard to distinguish if it has a removed breast pocket or if it is a "true" first pattern one.
Tk's on colar tabs look unusualy big ; maybe a metal WSS type used ?

Few more, from ebay again, panzer crews with almost unworn HBT 1st pattern suits :

This nice one shows panzerjäger crews during training with just issued HBT 2nd pattern suits,
but notice the man on the left wears moderatly worn 2nd pattern mouse gray wrap and HBT trousers (my guess is that he is an instructor) :

          Zooms :

Those from a film on youtube, i believe this Stug crew wear mouse gray wraps fully closed, i suppose 2nb pattern althought breast pockets are not realy visible :

Thought to say for sure, but imo this pz officer probably wear a mouse gray wrap :

And for this panther crew, well i let you appreciate the variety shown :

          Zoom :

First and 2nd pattern hbt wraps, with sharp details visible :

            Hbt trousers (s.Pz Abt 503) :

            Mouse gray denim trousers :

            Gray green denim trousers :

Same for this officer from ebay :

Acording seller, pic taken in Breda, Holland, mid october 1944, Stug Abt 667, the officer is identified here #160/162 with another pic :

Althought hard to say for sure, more mouse gray denim in wear :

On this very small pic, no possible confusion with hbt material :

On this well known one, Kurz and Liehr probably wear MG trousers, and Von Luck a hbt (wet or new ?) pair :

And on this one (battle of the Bulge december 44), my guess would be a gray green denim pair for the NCO :

                    Nice pic of s. Pz-Abt. 501

Wear, dirt and dust can produce significant variations of color and shade for HBT clothes on period pics, few exemples.

                    s. Pz-Abt. 503, dusty :

                    Pz-Aufkl-Abt 21. from ebay :

Same unit, with the 2 patterns of HBT sets :

Light/moderate wear, some from eaby again to illustrate variations of colors :

In most cases, the HBT sets can be clearly distinguished from the mouse gray denim sets on period pics.
But it is not easy when comparing HBT sets vs. gray green denim sets.

Well known pics of Carius with a mouse gray 2nd pattern wrap :

                      A complete MG 2nd pattern set worn by a Lt of the s. 502 Pz-Abt :

A less known one among the serie showing Ludwig's firts pattern MG wrap:

And gray green trousers worn by the same DIKG officer of Stug Abt 667 :

Last for tonight, shown on the forum, but i can't find the thread to give the link :

Hard to identify for sure between HBT and Gray green denim trousers, one of them with a pocket added on right leg.

A small size one from s. Pz-Abt 510, clearly mouse gray trousers in the center comparing to the man on the right :

On those two from ebay, look to have some first pattern hbt, but not sure about suits worn by officers with visor caps :

Probably the same nebelwerfer unit than in the pic shown p5 # 65, pics from Bundesarchiv

Althought a little bit out of focus, mouse gray suits imo.
Supposed to be located in Normandy in august 44, but to be confirmed.

I missed this one first time i saw it, focusing on the Hetzer.

For the pattern of the wrap, not HBT for sure, but hard to choose between mouse gray and gray green denim version :
