I bought this set. Here is a photo of the markings. As I recall, this was a second pattern wrap from which the large front pocket had been removed and the collar insignia wartime reconfigured.

          Hi Mike,

Very interesting. The wrap and pants are absolutely beautiful. When I mentioned earlier that I thought there was another 1st Model Mouse Grey wrap out there ,I was referring to this one. I didn't realize you owned it. Theres another 1st Model on Bob Edwards site which I thought was the Vet 44 one (unfortunately Bobs site is down), so I can't check.

Its difficult to see the differences between the 1st Model and 2d Model (with removed pocket) in pictures. You can't see the tell tale stitching for the external pocket in Vet 44s picture. The stitching for the internal pocket on the 1st Model is undetectable because of the way its constructed.

          Thanks for the pictures. Jim

You are absolutly right Jim, removal of the pocket is almost unoiticeable even having it in hands.
This modification (breast pocket removal) was often period obseved, but i don't know why.
Maybe just esthetical purpose, for the sharper look of the wrap without it, otherwise, you look "fat" and less sexy?
Or because this pocket was not realy used (looks empty on most period pics), or because not practical to move inside an armored vehicle if it is fulled, and to avoid to catch inside if emergency evacuation needed ?
              Just hypothesis.

There is also a Hoffmann post card depicting him even better in this same wrap, I can post this one later.
                .... here it is.

I would doubt many (if any) HBT wraps were custom made, not sure if I have seen a tailor made HBT tunic of any type (other than modified issue pieces). Stug crews as well as Panzer crews wore HBT wrappers as this photo illustrates.

Agree, but actually I do not think this is a wrap made in HBT, to my believe this is a denim fabric. (see also post #160)

I don't remember to have seen, neither on period pics or on items in the past or nowdays, tailor made or private purchase wraps made with HBT material.
Of course, never say never as usual, and keeping an open mind...
I'm only aware of coveralls made in small number with assembled (seewn together) HBT 4 pockets modified tunics and trousers in s.Pz.Abt 502.
Some (very few) HBT 4 pockets tunics were modified too, by removal of their lower pockets and with a shortend cut similar to M44 wool late tunics.
Those are generaly offered as "pz jackets", like this one wich is proposed in a next auction sale in Normandy :

I usualy don't care for them, but it is just my opinion.
Some wraps were made with denim material, but of course hard to find; like the one found in 1978 shown in Didier Lodieu's book "45 Tiger en Normandie" (Ysec editions) page 151.
This one was recently for sale on ebay :

I just put few pics of it for recording :

No need to say more about it...

Indeed; again please see f.e. also post #89 and #68 (and thus #172 as well ). It is evident that the denim wraps can be encountered in all different kinds of colours. As we already knew of course.

Unfortunately unable to see the lower part (most likely still a 4 pocket tunic), nonetheless a nice HBT related image.

Mouse gray 2nd pattern pz trousers (pic from an album recently sold on ebay).
Its cut is the same than the hbt one, notice the vertical hip slit to access under.

But i have not find yet a period pic clearly showing mouse gray first pattern trousers.
